Why The EcoMaster® is Clever

ecomaster® provides a new way of controlling the heating in houses and small non-domestic properties alike. It's "fuzzy logic" replaces the standard on/off programming of conventional programmers to give you the control you normally only get with complex expensive systems installed in larger commercial buildings. It is truly self-learning, easy to use and install,  enabling you to save energy and help the environment.

Limitations of a boiler with no ecomaster® fitted

Most boilers only have a thermostat controlled by a time clock or programmer. Boiler thermostats can be very inaccurate, being linked to the heat exchanger which transfers heat to the water, rather than to the water temperature itself.

There is no way of identifying the important variables such as the outside temperature or the degree of heat loss in the system (caused by operation of radiators).

A boiler without a solaressence® ecomaster® fitted is therefore prone to ‘dry cycling’. The boiler fires up at intervals irrespective of the water temperature, and the heat exchanger is unable to absorb the heat from the burner flame in an efficient manner.

The limitations mean that a central heating boiler without a solaressence® ecomaster® fitted will for most of the time consume significantly more fuel than it needs thereby increasing energy costs and producing inconsistent internal temperatures.

Advantages of a boiler with an ecomaster® fitted

The solaressence® ecomaster® uses electronic sensors to measure the your heating and hot water system temperature on a continuous basis, completely replacing your normal boiler thermostat, providing more accurate control of the boiler output temperature.

The solaressence® ecomaster® is software based using a unique variable thermal response program. The electronic sensors enable the solaressence® ecomaster® to calculate on a second by second basis exactly what demands are being imposed on the  heating and hot water system.

With this information the solaressence® ecomaster® is able to vary boiler output to accurately meet demand whilst allowing for temperature changes, significantly improving boiler efficiency, increasing fuel savings and improving internal room comfort.

On optimisation

Conventional time clocks switch on the heating at the same time in the morning irrespective of the outside temperature. For optimum energy savings the heating system should switch on at the closest time to occupancy as possible with no compromise to internal comfort conditions.

In order to achieve this the electronic programmer will automatically switch on at a time based on the external and internal temperature, thus reducing the energy required to pre-heat the building during spring/autumn months but ensuring adequate pre-heat during the winter, thereby improving the internal comfort conditions.

Off optimisation

Conventional time clocks will switch off the heating at the  programmed time irrespective of the outside temperature. All buildings retain heat during the occupancy period, and on mild days the internal temperature will still be at comfort levels for a period after the heating has turned off.

The solaressence® ecomaster® can based on the external and internal temperatures switch off the heating system earlier during the autumn /spring months but allow full heat to occur up to the normal finishing time during the winter, thereby improving internal comfort conditions and saving energy.
