UT - un vented twin coil systems
Providing mains pressure hot water to your taps. The benefit of having two separate
heating coils for your cylinder is that both your boiler and your solar
system work together in a much more efficient way. Your boiler acts as back up when
needed.
All solaressence® un vented cylinders are stainless steel and come with a 25 year
warranty. An additional benefit of installing a solaressence® cylinder is that each
cylinder is custom-made for your home so can be manufactured to fit snugly into the
correct space. These cylinders are also much more highly insulated so you lose less
energy with the heat escaping - and you still have the benefit of immersion back-up.
Substantial savings on your hot water costs can be made because the energy you receive
from the solar system displaces the energy your boiler would otherwise have had to
produce. Plus you have the ability to upgrade at any time in the future to a dual
system.
how it works
The solar collectors u begin to rise in temperature. The temperature differential controller SE3 v monitors the difference between the collector and your cylinder { with highly accurate temperature sensors y . When the temperature of the collectors rises more then 6-8 degrees above that of the water cylinder the controller turns the solar pump w on. This creates circulation within the sealed solar circuit z which is made of pre-insulated stainless steel duo-flex pipe containing tyfocor (solar grade anti-freeze) heat transfer fluid. Your boiler x should still be on similar settings as before & will still monitor the temperature in your cylinder, which according to your timing settings will boost your cylinder temperature if required. The need for your boiler to boost the cylinder temperature will depend on the time of the year, the amount of solar availability, and your hot water needs. Sometimes it will need to boost, sometimes it will not. Again it must be remembered that if your boiler does need to boost the temperature, it is just that, a boost. The energy you receive from the solar system displaces the energy your boiler would otherwise have had to produce whether your boiler still has to fire up to boost or not.
This transfer of heat from the solar circuit to the cylinder has the effect of taking the heat out of the collectors u and their temperature drops again. When their temperature has dropped to only 2 degrees above the water cylinder the temperature differential controller SE3 v turns off your solar pump w. The whole process then simply starts again. So in essence the system transfers the heat from the collectors to your cylinder in many short bursts throughout the day.
